Reuse and Recycling Centre
Taking your household waste to the Reuse and Recycling Centre
The Reuse and Recycling Centre is a safe and easy way for Royal Greenwich residents to dispose of their household waste - particularly items that are not collected via the kerbside collection services.
Residents with a waste disposal permit can take a range of materials and dispose them for free at the site, which is situated in Nathan Way, Thamesmead. This site does not accept trade or commercial waste.
This facility is operated by our long-term partner Veolia Environmental Services.
- Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm
- Saturdays 8am to 5pm
- Sundays (and Bank Holidays) 9am to 4.30pm
- Closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
The site is monitored by automatic number plate reading (ANPR) equipment and vehicles that enter the site will have their vehicle registration numbers recorded and stored.

Resident disposal permit
Site staff may ask to see your disposal permit or proof that you are a Royal Greenwich resident. This is to stop traders and commercial waste producers from tipping their waste in a public site.
If you have not brought your Royal Greenwich resident disposal permit, a photo ID and recent utility bill or bank statement proving that you are a resident in Royal Greenwich will be enough.
To obtain a permit, please call the Contact Centre to request an application form.
If you are not a resident of Royal Greenwich you will be directed to a facility that you will be able to use.
