Letting a garage from the Royal Borough of Greenwich
Garages to let
Do you need a garage? There are a limited number of council-owned garages available to rent in Royal Greenwich.
What does it cost?
Prices are graded A to C according to the standard of the garage.
The weekly rents for council tenants and leaseholders are:
- grade A - £1.86
- grade B - £4.35
- grade C - £8.69.
Rents are higher for for people who are neither council tenants nor leaseholders. A 20 per cent discount is available for disabled drivers.
Prices may be subject to increase in the future.
How do I apply?
Download a garage application form, complete it and return it to the Royal Borough of Greenwich's Housing Services team. You can also request a form by contacting the Housing Services team.

What happens next?
You will be put on a waiting list. Garages are allocated by the date of the application. The following priority system applies:
| Group A | A household where any member of the household is disabled and the residents are council tenants or leaseholders who pay a service charge to the Royal Borough of Greenwich |
| Group B | A current garage tenant whose garage is being closed down |
| Group C | A household that is suffering car damage due to racial or homophobic harassment and the allocation of a garage is recommended by the multi-agency panel |
| Group D | Members of a household that are council tenants or leaseholders who pay a service charge |
| Group E | Other residents of Royal Greenwich |
| Group F | Applicants from outside Royal Greenwich |
| Group G | Requests for second garages from council tenants or leaseholders who pay a service charge to the Royal Borough of Greenwich |
Arrears
If you are a tenant with rent arrears or a leaseholder with service charge arrears, your name will not go onto the garage waiting list until your account is clear.
If you rent a garage from us and your account falls into arrears, we may repossess the garage.
Buy a garage
You can apply to buy the lease if you rent a garage from the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
