Greenwich Young People's Council

Get involved with the Young People's Council

If you are a young person in Royal Greenwich, Greenwich Young People's Council (GYPC) represents you.

The Young People's Council is the voice of young people in the borough. Members have been elected in schools, youth clubs, the Children in Care Council and by disabled young people.

  • Do you ever feel as though adults don’t listen when you have something to say?
  • Are you interested in helping other young people to have a voice?
  • Would you like to see change in your area?
  • Do you like meeting new people?
  • Do you feel passionate about something?
  • Would you like to develop skills and confidence?
  • Would you like to gain recognition or accreditation for your achievements?
  • Would you like to organise and run this year’s Y Factor conference, celebrating young people’s participation in Royal Greenwich?

Join the Greenwich Young People's Council

We are looking for young people to help to shape the GYPC.

You don’t have to know loads about politics, just have some free time and enthusiasm.

Getting involved could mean:

  • running the elections for the GYPC
  • becoming a candidate yourself
  • helping to decide how the GYPC should be run
  • letting other young people know about GYPC and listening to their opinions.

How can I join?

If you would like to join the Greenwich Young People's Council action group, please contact Michelle at the Children's Society.
