Private tenants

The Royal Borough views pest control as a potential cost of doing business as a private landlord. We expect private landlords to pay pest treatment fees in all cases. We do not expect private or non-council tenants to pay for pest treatment services and so we do not offer a direct chargeable treatment service to private tenants.

If you are a tenant of a private landlord and are experiencing difficulties with your Landlord refusing to undertake or meet treatment costs you can contact the Royal Borough's Residential Services Section for advice. Email residentialservices@royalgreenwich.gov.uk or call 020 8921 8157.

Number and length of treatments

Treatments can be very complex and several factors will need to be taken into account to estimate how long the treatment will take. These can be the size of the property, the number of rooms and the extent of the infestation.

General advice

If you require general pest control advice that does not include booking treatments, email residentialservices@royalgreenwich.gov.uk.

What we don't cover

Please note the Royal Borough does not undertake any type of treatment for urban foxes, squirrels or birds. You can find some advice that may help you deal with these below.

Foxes

You can contact the Fox Helpline on 01892 826222 for advice on foxes. You can help to keep foxes at bay by:

  • ensuring that bins are securely shut
  • not leaving rubbish sacks beside your wheelie bin
  • never feeding foxes.
