Be a friend of your local park

Want to be involved in improving your local park?

'Friends of park' groups work with the Royal Borough of Greenwich's Parks team to create better open spaces. Each group helps care for a specific park or green space in the Royal Borough.

Through the partnership, park users get a greater say in what goes on in their local parks. All Royal Greenwich residents are welcome to join a 'friends' group – or help to establish one.

Help with funding

The Royal Borough of Greenwich will advise your group on how to adopt a constitution and set up a committee.

This will enable the group to seek funds from various sources, such as:

  • Big Lottery Fund
  • London Community Foundation.

Your group may even be able to get funding from organisations that do not take bids from local authorities.

If your group needs help with grant applications, we can also help.

Further information

If you would like to know more about 'friends of park' groups and how you can set up one, please call the Parks and Open Spaces Department.
