Home Meals Service

Finding it difficult to do your weekly shopping or prepare your own meals? Find out more about the benefits of the Royal Borough of Greenwich's Home Meals Service.

The scheme is part of Royal Greenwich's healthy eating campaign. It means that elderly or housebound people can get a delicious, nutritious hot meal each day without having to venture out.

What is on offer?

There are 52 main courses and 39 puddings available. There are a range of different options from vegetarian to gluten-free meals. If you join the home meals scheme, you will be given a full-colour guide that gives you details of the menu. Nutritional details are included alongside each meal and dessert.

You can also get a freezer and microwave if you don't already own them. The appliances will be serviced annually. Arrangements can also be made for someone to come and cook your meal for you if you are unable to do it yourself. They'll even make you a cuppa if required!

What does it cost and when does it arrive?

A two-course meal (main course and dessert) costs £3.47. You will receive your seven daily meals in one go on an agreed day of the week. This means you can work out your own dinner schedule.

If you have a hospital appointment or a special trip planned, you can always ring the office in advance and change the delivery arrangements.

How do I sign up?

The Home Meals Service is principally for people who have been referred through our Adult and Older People's Services. Call the Home Meals Service for more information.
