Greenwich Book Festival, Friday 26 May to Saturday 27 May 2017

Words and ideas come to life for adults and families in two days of world-class author events, discussions, debates and creative workshops in the historic buildings and grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, on the banks of the River Thames.

Come and hear award-winning poets, see novelists and thinkers debate, introduce your family to a favourite author or participate in an inspiring workshop.

Greenwich + Docklands International Festival (GDIF), Friday 23 June to Saturday 8 July 2017

Bringing the very best of outdoor arts to Royal Greenwich, GDIF transforms the everyday into something wonderful: whether it's giant colour wheels parading through Woolwich, a bus journey in reverse in Eltham, a dance adventure in Thamesmead or a giant illuminated moon in Greenwich, the Festival brings something unexpected and miraculous wherever it goes.

Greenwich Music Festival, Saturday 3 June to Saturday 15 July 2017

The music festival brings vibrant one-day music events to Woolwich, Eltham and Greenwich town centres. Enjoy a range of music including classical, world, folk and popular music performed by local, amateur and professional musicians.

The events take place at the following venues:

  • Cutty Sark Gardens, Greenwich: 3 and 4 June
  • General Gordon Square, Woolwich: 17 and 21 June
  • Passey Place, Eltham: 1, 8 and July

Greenwich World Cultural Festival, Sunday 16 July 2017

The Greenwich World Cultural Festival returns to Eltham Palace & Gardens for its ninth year, with a stunning afternoon of free dance, theatre, music and circus from around the world, for all the family to enjoy.

Residents and families can explore the beautiful grounds and discover pop-up performances along with creative activities for all ages and then dance through the decades in the Great Hall.

Meerkats Menagerie, Sunday 4 June to Sunday 23 July 2017

This summer explore the secret life of the animal kingdom's most loveable and mysterious creatures, the Urban Meerkat! Parks and public spaces will become theatrical safari sites giving audiences a front row seat to zoological research.

Discover Family Safari Sites where eminent zoologists will be on hand to share alternative facts about these fascinating creatures. Join in with Meerkat games, crafts and den making.

Parksfest, weekends between Sunday 4 June and Sunday 30 July 2017

A festival of open air entertainment in Greenwich's parks, pleasaunces and commons. Parksfest encourages residents to watch live music dance and theatre performances by local artists and groups. Parksfest is planned, organised and delivered by the Friends of Parks groups.
