About secondary school applications

We coordinate transfers from primary to secondary school for all applicants who live in Royal Greenwich, even if you apply for schools in other council areas.

If your child is due to start secondary school next September, you must apply for a school place through us.

If you live outside Royal Greenwich but want to apply for one or more of our schools, you need to apply through your local council.

By coordinating school admissions, we make sure that:

  • all applicants receive their offer of a school place on the same day
  • no-one holds multiple offers whilst others have none

We do this by working with schools and other London councils.

Types of school

Through our coordinated admissions process, you can apply for:

  • academies
  • community schools
  • free schools
  • voluntary-aided faith schools

You cannot apply for independent, fee-paying schools through our coordinated admissions process. Contact this type of school direct to apply.
