The popular gardening competition returns with five exciting categories.

Green-fingered residents can enter their gardens and show local pride in their environment.

Delivered in partnership with sponsor Coolings Garden Centre, the Greenwich in Bloom competition provides a great opportunity for amateur gardeners to showcase their skills.

The competition continues to help keep the Green in Greenwich, and highlights the Royal Borough's continuing commitment to improving the environment for the benefit of local people.

Categories

There are five categories to enter this year, all of which will be assessed by judges:

  • Front garden
  • Back garden
  • Communal garden
  • Hanging baskets, window boxes or pots
  • Commercial garden or containers (for any pub, restaurant, shop or other business enterprise).

Prizes

Category winners will be awarded trophies and Coolings Garden Centre vouchers which may be used in store or on the Coolings website, plus all entrants will receive a free £5 voucher (only one £5 voucher is given per household).

How to enter

The closing date for entries was Friday 23 June 2017.

Judging will take place in the first weeks of July.

'Fun and enjoyable competition'

Councillor Jackie Smith, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Environment, said: "This is a great opportunity for residents to put their gardening skills to the test in what always proves to be a fun and enjoyable competition. Greenwich in Bloom has gone from strength to strength year after year and I look forward to seeing the great selection of entries."
