The Royal Borough of Greenwich is celebrating in style this June Jubilee weekend.
From 12 to 6pm on Thursday 2 June, Royal Greenwich Together 22 will be taking over Charlton Park with free music, dance and activities and the event’s impressive main stage line-up is finally here!
Among the amazing acts taking to the main stage at the free, un-ticketed event is Desta French. The Colombian-Italian singer/songwriter will showcase her unique blend of salsa, hip hop and pop, drawing inspiration from both her Latin heritage and colourful Camden upbringing.
Ska and reggae fans won’t want to miss Tyber & Pete from The Dualers. The duo hail from South-East London and are thrilled to be entertaining their local community.
All female Bhangra collective Eternal Taal makes a return to the festival but this year, taking to the main stage. They will be bringing their Dhol drumming and dance to the residents of Royal Greenwich. The group blend traditional Bhangra beats with a contemporary spin.
For little ones, YolanDa’s Band Jam from CBeebies will be kicking things off on the main stage. YolanDa and her musicians are sure to get families up on their feet!
Our new Kids Town will keep the kids entertained with workshops and activities, while across the field, we’ll be celebrating 50 years since the first UK Pride celebrations with a dedicated Pride50 tent full of performances and activities.
Visitors can also explore the marketplace, full of food, bars, craft and produce stalls. Get stuck into sporting activities with Greenwich Get Active, including football, cricket and tennis. The Community Village will welcome voluntary and community stalls, plus local choirs and wellness activities.
Further performers and headlining acts are to be announced. The celebrations will kick off a huge summer of events for 2022 and begin the borough’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The Platinum Picnic in the Park will follow on Friday 3 June, from 12 to 4pm.
