The Council, together with the police and funfair organisers, have agreed that the Blackheath funfair can reopen this afternoon, Thursday 14 April, as long as additional safety measures are taken.

The organisers have committed to a range of new measures including increasing the number of security officers, enhanced safety checks on entry, and a requirement that those under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

The Council is proud to continue the long tradition of Easter funfairs on Blackheath, however our primary concern is that all our residents are kept safe.

If anyone has any information or details about the disturbance yesterday, please contact the police by calling 101.
