The Royal Borough of Greenwich will join the Adopt London South Regional Adoption Agency from April 2022.

Joining with south London's adoption experts as part of Adoption London South (ALS) means Royal Greenwich will be better able to provide services that reflect London's diverse communities.

By entering this partnership Royal Greenwich will benefit from a long-term pan-London approach to adoption, providing more timely choice of London families for children.

A spokesperson for the Royal Borough of Greenwich said: “This approach to adoption will help children to move into their adoptive family at a younger age, which will improve their overall wellbeing in their new families.

“Working together with our neighbouring boroughs means we can pool our resources, and support those creating a forever family for children who desperately need a loving home.”

ALS already delivers adoption services for other London boroughs including, Croydon, Kingston, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Richmond, Southwark, Sutton and Wandsworth.

Susanne Daus, Head of Service for Adopt London South, said: “Children are at the heart of what we do at Adopt London South. If anyone wants to know more about adoption, please contact us at  www.adoptlondon.org.uk, email adoptionALS@southwark.gov.uk or call 020 7525 1746.”
