The Royal Borough of Greenwich celebrates LGBTQ+ History Month
February is LGBTQ+ History Month and this year the borough will come together for a range of inclusive events that all residents can get involved in. From familyworkshops at the Woolwich Centre library to Charlton Athletic’s first ever Football v Homophobia weekend, venues across Royal Greenwich will be showing their support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Below is the current programme, with further events to be added in the coming weeks.
Saturday 5 February
Event: Charlton Athletic Men’s team will host AFC Wimbledon in the first match of the club’s Football v Homophobia weekend. Both matches will run in conjuction with Charlton’s LGBTQ+ supporters group, The Proud Valiants. This is a ticketed event.

Sunday 6 February
Event: Charlton Athletic Women’s team will host Watford FC Women. Charlton’s LGBTQ+ side, Charlton Invicta will also be dedicated all of their matches throughout February to Football v Homophobia’s month of action. This is a ticketed event.

Tuesday 8 February
Event: LGBTQ+ Film Screening of The Watermelon Woman. This is a free ticketed event.
Location: Plumstead Theatre
Time: From 6pm
Wednesday 9 and 23 February
Event: Adult Creator Space will be creating themed collages exploring LGBTQ+ history in the local community and across London.

Time: 1.45 to 3.45pm
Saturday 19 February
Event: Citylit Family LGBTQ+ bunting making.
Location: Woolwich Centre Library
Time: 2-4pm
Tuesday 22 February
Event: LGBTQ+ Film Screening of Saturday Church. This is a free ticketed event.
Location: Plumstead Theatre
Time: From 6pm
Saturday 26 February
Event: Woolwich Creative Writers Group will be focusing on LGBTQ+ flash fiction stories and characters as part of an open workshop.
Location: Woolwich Centre Library
Time: 2 to 4pm
Weekly
Event: RASCALS Afterschool Club will be creating LGBTQ+ themed crafts
