On 14 October, friends and colleagues of Cllr Denise Hyland, the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, gathered  for a game of golf in aid of the Mayor’s charity, the Tramshed.  

Over cups of tea, holes in one, and the occasional bacon sandwich, £2,700 was raised through entry tickets and raffle coupons for the Tramshed – a performing arts charity supporting children and adults with learning disabilities to reach their theatrical goals.  

Hosted at Shooters Hill Golf Club, the day saw the likes of Helen Mcintosh, President Chamber of Commerce, Danny Thorpe, Leader of the Council, Deputy Mayor Leo Fletcher and past mayors Janet Gillman and Don Austen grab an iron club for a lighthearted day of golf and fundraising.  

Cllr Denise Hyland said: “What a time to be able to mix two of my passions - golfing and the performing arts. The Tramshed holds such a special place in my heart, and I am so grateful to be able to support them in my charity appeal this year. Thanks to all those who sponsored a prize; Richard Upton, Riney’s and Better (GLL). Thank you to everyone who not only came along and played their heart out but to all those who have donated so far! Thanks to my club Eltham Warren which put up teams and a big thanks to Shooters Hill GC, Club Captain, Harvey Goodhew and Manager Chris Cooper for hosting this annual event.”
