The first 44 of hundreds of jobs at Woolwich Works, a new landmark cultural hub for London, are now being advertised.

Woolwich Works, based on the Thames in the Royal Arsenal, will be home to a number of world class resident artistic companies, immersive theatre company Punchdrunk, Chineke! Orchestra, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Luca Silvestrini’s Protein. Our ambitious council-led development is due to open on 23 September and will have hundreds of jobs on offer with the first 44 theatre and hospitality jobs now being advertised for local people with salaries between £22,580 and £46,800.

Roles are being recruited for via the Council’s employment and jobs brokerage service Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB) that helps get local people into apprenticeships, jobs and training.

Cllr Danny Thorpe, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: "Woolwich Works which is one of our flagship regeneration projects and has already provided many jobs through its construction phase. Now it is on the verge of opening it and its artistic companies such as Punchdrunk will be employing even more local people in a range of quality front and back of house roles and all paying at least the London Living Wage.”

James Heaton, Chief Executive of Woolwich Works, said:  “We are looking for more people to join our growing team and are recruiting several roles ahead of our opening on the 23 September No experience? No problem! We’re hiring based on behavioral competencies which means looking for the people with the most suitable skills for each role. We want to reflect the city we work in and the communities and audiences we engage with and we actively encourage applications from people from different backgrounds and with different experiences and skills.”
