Holiday Fun Fridays will be taking place on six Fridays through the summer school holidays and October half-term, giving families some fantastic ideas on how to keep the kids entertained.

Each Friday in the school holidays we’ll be animating General Gordon Square in Woolwich with market stalls featuring gift and treats from local businesses, including hot food. There will be free activities for children and each week will have a different theme - our first Fun Friday – 4 June - is all about sport, ahead of Euro 2021 starting in June.

  • When: Friday 4 June
  • Where: General Gordon Square, Woolwich
  • Start: 12 noon
  • End: 7pm

There will be tons to do at this great, free event, from face painting and spray tattoos (kids and adults!) and take-away slime kits to great sporting activities from Better Leisure, along with enclosed soccer cages so you can test your footie skills to get in the Euro 2021 spirit and a fabulous football freestyler skills demo at 5.30pm.

Councillor Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Culture, Communities and Equalities, said: “The summer is finally approaching and our festival and events season is kicking off with this great event for families. It’s time to have some fun so come down to Woolwich, entertain the kids for free, grab some great goodies and food and enjoy being together again.”

Along with activities for all, local businesses will be selling craft and produces will be available (fresh bakery, juices, bath products, home fragrance, natural and holistic products, jewellery, Body Shop, books and more.

There will also be some tasty continental food with American gourmet burgers, authentic Caribbean flavours and a taste of Mexico with burritos, nachos and tasty tacos.

All our events are operated in a COVID-safe and friendly environment and are full accessible.

We’ll publish more Holiday Fun Friday dates shortly – keep an eye on social #HolidayFunFridays
