Danny Thorpe, the Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, has announced changes to the cabinet as Cllr Sizwe James steps down as Cabinet Member for Environment, Sustainability and Transport.

Cllr James is leaving his position to spend more time with his family, but remains a valued part of the Council. Following his departure, some changes have been made to the cabinet.

Cllr Sarah Merrill takes over as Cabinet Member for Environment, Sustainability and Transport, while Deputy Leader Cllr Denise Scott-McDonald moves to oversee Regeneration and Good Growth.

Speaking of the changes, Cllr Thorpe said: “I want to express my gratitude to Cllr James for his hard work in leading on Environment, Sustainability and Transport in Royal Greenwich, including key work pushing environmental issues and promoting cycling in the borough. Sizwe will be much missed as a Cabinet Member."

The position of Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills is currently vacant and will be filled shortly.
