Graduate in cap

Published: Friday, 27th November 2020

From 30 November, the LGA National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP) is accepting applications to its graduate training scheme, and this year Royal Greenwich is looking for local candidates.

Royal Greenwich has been part of the Local Government Association's NGDP since 2003 and accepts new graduates as part of this fast-track scheme only every two years. Individuals who complete the programme gain a council-specific leadership and management qualification.

Cllr Chris Kirby, Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources, said: “This pandemic has had a huge impact on the jobs market and it is a very challenging time for those entering the world of work. We are delighted to be offering a rare opportunity to graduates to join us and launch into a hugely rewarding career in public service.

“Successful applicants will not only get experience across a range of services but be in a position to have a positive impact on people’s lives; many of our former trainees have gone on to meaningful careers within Royal Greenwich. I’m incredibly proud to work for such a diverse, and culturally and historically important, London borough and I really encourage any graduate to apply – and wish each applicant the very best of luck!”

Graduates who grew up, studied, work or now live in Royal Greenwich are particularly encouraged to apply as local knowledge and a shared passion for our borough will add real value to the projects you join.

Applicants must have graduated with a 2:2 or above before July 2021.

The deadline for applications is noon on 6 January 2021.
