Many of these work sites are important larger maintenance projects, highway improvements and work to enable and encourage greener, healthier and safer ways of moving around the borough. For example, they include things like installing walking, cycling and accessibility facilities. 

Gradually, you may notice work on many of the sites that were previously underway and planned to start to commence again around the borough. The government is encouraging highway work sites to return to “business as usual” with amended working practices, revised risk assessments and guidance. 

Staff working on these sites will strictly comply with the government and health guidance, with safe systems of work in place, while providing an essential service. Please be kind and considerate and assured that work is being carried out safely and for everyone’s benefit.
