Have you ever wished that the council would spend more time looking at things that interest you?

The Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee has six panels that carry out investigations into areas such as crime and disorder, health, adult social care, education, helping people into employment, bin collections and street cleaning.  It’s currently working out its 2020/21 work programme and would like residents to put forward ideas on what it should look at.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, said:

“Your influence as a resident doesn’t stop at the ballot box - you have the power to request reviews of rulings, policies and service performance too. We want to hear your suggestions for what should be scrutinised over the next 12 months. You can ask your local councillors to put forward proposals, or contact the council directly.”
