Following a revamp, we've improved the look and feel of the underpass that joins the homes at Woolwich Dockyard to Kingsman Parade.

We recognised that the underpass needed updating after speaking to residents and members of the community.

The underpass is used daily by hundreds of locals, visiting the local shops and using the transport routes nearby.

Improvement works included a deep clean, improved lighting, repainted railings, handrails and walls, removal of weeds and the provision of more bins. The works also included the cleaning and repainting of the Woolwich Dockyard Estate entrance.

Cllr Sizwe James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Growth said: “We want everyone to feel proud and safe in our borough. The improvement works to the Kingsman Parade underpass has not only enhanced and brightened up the area, but has also given it a better sense of security.

“This is yet another example of how we are utilising section 106 funding from developers to fund projects that improve our communities and enhance the lives of residents.”

The revamp to Kingsman Parade underpass was funded by Section 106 monies, identified through the Woolwich Estates Renewal programme.
