"We welcome the publication of the first phase of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry report. The Government, councils, housing associations and emergency services owe it to the families of the 72 people who were killed to do everything in our power to prevent such an unspeakable tragedy from ever happening again.

"There are a number of recommendations which will need to be taken forward by London Fire Brigade, local authorities and building owners - we will go through these and publish a full response in due course once we understand what they mean for the Council and our residents."
