We'll share information about closures and cancellations as we hear about them, but look out for service providers such as schools, health services and community organisations contacting you in the usual way.

Out and about

If you're driving or cycling, take a look at our gritting routes to find out which roads are safest for travel. The map also shows the locations of grit bins where you can help yourself to some of the salty stuff.

If you're taking public transport, keep an eye out for information from Transport for London (buses, DLR, Tube, Clipper and some roads) and Southeastern rail (mainline trains).

Remember in severe weather the advice may be to make only essential journeys. Keep checking to make sure your choice to travel is the right one.

Staying in

If you’re worried about staying warm during a cold snap, support is available.

Find out about the extra services and support the Council provides for residents who may be at risk during the cold weather including help with your fuel bills.

And don’t forget to check on your neighbours, especially older or vulnerable people. If you have any concerns you can call the Stay Warm, Stay Safe team on 0800 470 4831.

If you need help with health care you can get advice by calling NHS111, from the comfort of your own home.
