An opportunity to take up volunteering and help make a difference to somebody's life.

There are a huge range of different volunteering roles available in the borough - many volunteers find that it enriches their lives. Volunteering can lead to a new career, new friendships, develop valuable life experiences and build CV new skills that can be helpful when job hunting.

Co-ordinated by Volunteer Centre Greenwich, there are a huge range of options available - many of which you may not even have previously thought about. No matter what your age or interests, there is a volunteering opportunity to suit everyone, from event planning or administration, to gardening and befriending.

Other examples include mentoring young people, becoming a school governor, working in a community centre or driving around people who are less mobile.

About Volunteers' Week

Volunteer Centre Greenwich is kicking off Volunteers' Week on Friday 1 June, 10am to 4pm, in General Gordon Square in Woolwich, with information stalls about volunteering roles available in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Residents will be able to speak face-to-face with representatives from various organisations to find out what roles are available, and apply for them.
