A record number of Royal Greenwich children have received a place at their chosen primary school.

This year 86.5 per cent of children received a place at their chosen school with 95.77 per cent receiving a place at one of their top three choices. Last year 84.4 per cent received a place at their top choice school and 94.4 per cent received a place at one of their top three choices.

A record number of primary school applications for September 2018 (96.6 per cent) were made online through the eAdmissions portal - the quickest, easiest and most secure method to apply, as well as the fastest way to find out results.

'Investment in top schools'

Florence Kroll, Director of Children's Services, said: "Our admissions team have worked really hard to ensure that even more children will start at their preferred school in September. We've invested in our schools to increase the number of places at our highest achieving schools to meet demand.

"With 97 per cent of primary schools in Royal Greenwich judged 'good' or 'outstanding' by Ofsted, parents can rest assured that their children will be getting their education off to the best possible start."

The deadline for accepting a primary school place for September 2018 is Monday 30 April.
