The easiest way to pay your Council Tax is by Direct Debit - and setting one up is simple.

Payment can be spread over 10 or 12 months and you can now choose which day of the month you wish to pay on.

Complete a simple online form

All you need is your Council Tax reference number (which is on your bill) and your bank details and you can complete the form online or download a paper version to fill in.

Setting up a Direct Debit means that you don't have to spend time paying your Council Tax each month and you won't ever miss a payment as it is automatically debited from your account.

'No need to worry about missing a payment'

Kevin Gibbs, Director of Finance for Royal Greenwich, said: "Paying your Council Tax by Direct Debit only takes a few minutes and then you're set for the rest of the year.

"It's one less thing to worry about as you don't have to worry about missing a payment."
