London's hottest new trend in eating out is coming to Woolwich next year.

Street Feast operates vibrant street food day and night markets, bringing a phenomenon to London dining with a range of independent traders selling food from around the globe, as well as specialist bars, activities, events and music.

Street Feast is scheduled to open in early spring 2018 on the site of Plumstead Road Covered Market. It will be on the site for up to two years until the proposed redevelopment of this site begins.

The company was chosen after a full competitive process carried out by the Council.

About Street Feast

Street Feast is more than just a place to grab a bite to eat. Expect a rotating line-up of eight great street food traders, three specialist bars and two mezzanine levels featuring a 'Pool Deck' and an event/activity space.

The central market area will have seating for up to 300 people, and when the market is closed, the space will be available for community events such as a pop-up cinema, sports screenings and kids clubs.

'A vibrant and exciting destination'

Councillor Danny Thorpe, Deputy Leader, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Sustainability, said: "I'm delighted we've managed to bring Street Feast to Woolwich. They have a fantastic reputation and will provide a vibrant and exciting destination for families and people of all ages.

"Whilst plans for the Spray Street Quarter continue to be developed, this will be a great space for everyone to enjoy in the Town centre."

'Excited about bringing Street Feast to Woolwich'

Matthew Sanders, London Union's Property, Communities and Campaigns Boss, said: "We're really excited about bringing Street Feast to Woolwich. As well as breathing life back into the market, Street Feast will support at least 20 small, independent businesses and over 50 jobs for local young people.

"Street Feast already supports a network of small businesses at the core of the company, bringing world-class food to the markets and helping to transform lives and communities through the power of street food.

"The council has an impressive plan for Woolwich town centre, and we're looking forward to working with councillors, residents and other local businesses on what this space can do for the local area."
