There is a wide range of free and subsidised adult learning courses available.

Whether you're interested in wearable tech and fashion, bricklaying, interview training or Search Engine Optimisation, there's something for you and sessions are being held at accessible venues across the borough. Courses include, stress busting and well-being, food safety, flower arranging, business start-up and English for speakers of other languages.

Many courses are accredited which means that you'll have something to put on your CV at the end of it, making you more employable.

A lot of the courses are one day or part-time, making them easy to fit around existing commitments or simply give you a taster of what they involve.

'Improve skills or learn something new'

Councillor Sizwe James, Cabinet Member for Transport, Economy and Smart Cities, said: "We offer a wide range of part time and short courses to help our residents improve their skills or simply learn something new - and many of them are free.

"I'd encourage everyone to take a look at what's on and see what appeals to them, no matter what your age or interests. Signing up to a course might help open doors to your future career or help you find a new hobby and make friends."
