Foot tunnels, Thames Path and Cutty Sark Gardens

Greenwich Foot Tunnel restrictions

Greenwich Foot Tunnel will now stay open at weekends for essential journeys. You must adhere to social distancing guidelines when using the tunnel, and keep to the left.

Footfall will continue to be monitored using CCTV and if safety becomes an issue, we will review the decision to keep the tunnel open.

Cutty Sark Gardens

Cutty Sark Gardens will now stay open at weekends.

Thames Path closure

Due to high numbers of people using narrow sections of the Thames Path in our borough, we have had to take the decision to close the sections in Peninsula (Enderby Wharf to  Drawdock  Road) and Maritime Greenwich (Cutty Sark Gardens to Park Row). This is to ensure that everyone adheres to the strict two metre social distancing rules to protect themselves and others from contracting COVID-19 when outside on essential journeys.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and re-open the path as soon as possible.
