We appreciate these are difficult times for many of our residents and that the coronavirus is having a significant impact on our town.


Your Council Tax pays for the essential services delivered to all residents in the borough, it is very important that if your financial circumstances have not significantly changed that you continue to pay your Council Tax as detailed on your bill.


If you are struggling to pay your Council Tax due to the coronavirus, it is important that you contact us as soon as possible. To avoid unnecessary travel and for those who are self-isolating, our service centres are currently closed to the public, but we can be contacted by email or telephone.


Get help with paying Council Tax

Money and Pensions Services


A Money Navigator tool has been designed to help people with complex financial situations who may find it difficult to know where to start. For example those who are self employed or facing redundancy job loss or  people who have had a temporary income drop who need help to get back on track.


The Money Navigator tool asks a short series of questions about individual financial circumstance, before providing personalised. It will highlight areas where you should consider taking action most urgently to avoid money problems later on.
