Dog boarding franchises

You must have a licence if you provide dog boarding franchises; this is where businesses with a central office or series of regional offices, arrange provision of dog boarding accommodation with host boarders. These host boarders do not themselves normally require a licence as they will operate under the licence of the business. However, some hosts will need a licence for dog home boarding and/or day care depending on the amount of annual income they receive as a host boarder. Further information is available on request from our team.

The total fee payable is shown below. This amount consists of the initial administration fee payable with the application and the subsequent enforcement fee payable by credit/debit card prior to the issue of a licence.

You also need to pay an additional fee for each host boarder that we inspect. We need to initially inspect each host boarder so that we can ensure compliance with statutory conditions for dog home boarding licensing standards and conditions  and dog day care (dog creches).
