Batucada! A classical guitar recital of mainly South American music from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela and Paraguay. Opening Royal Greenwich Guitar Festival 2022 Recital, this will be an evening of solo classical guitar music with South American from Graham's latest NAXOS recording, Batucada. Music by Agustin Barrios, Astor Piazzolla, Manuel Ponce, Tom Jobim etc. The programme will also include Baroque music by Sylvius Leopold Weiss. A glass of wine/refreshments will be served during the interval and there will be a 'Batucada' CD signing session after the recital. Graham Anthony Devine is one of the world’s most outstanding virtuosos of his generation. A winner of major competitions around the globe he has built an international career as recitalist, concerto soloist, and masterclass tutor. He has performed to great critical acclaim at many of the world’s most important recital venues such as Wigmore Hall (London) Purcell Room (London) Palau de la Musica (Valencia) Hakuju Hall (Tokyo) Phoenix Hall (Osaka) etc. His many CD recordings for NAXOS and other labels of varied repertoire from all epochs have drawn the highest praise worldwide.
