Capping off a busy year for the jazz department, the Trinity Laban Jazz Orchestra returns to Blackheath Halls, presenting music by saxophonist and Trinity Laban faculty member Martin Speake. Spanning several of Martin’s acclaimed releases, including ‘Change of Heart’, ‘Always a First Time’, and ‘Intention’, these brand-new arrangements were written by Trinity Laban students as part of an assessment earlier this year, and have been rehearsed and refined for these performances. The setlist, which will be the same for both shows, will include compositions such as ‘Hidden Vision’, ‘The Strengthening Power of Healing’ and ‘June 2nd’, with Martin joining the ensemble on stage to feature on Alto Saxophone.
