On 22 June 1948, the SS Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury Docks in London. Now every year we mark this special anniversary with Windrush Day. The event is an opportunity to celebrate the Windrush Generation and acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices of British Caribbean communities.
