The Connecting Communities Dance Festival is set to dazzle with a five-day extravaganza revelling in different dance styles from our African, Asian, and Caribbean diaspora communities across several borough locations. The live festival celebrates the wonderfully rich cultural diversity we have in our borough and runs over half term, Monday 25 to Friday 29 October 2021. Showcasing four new commissioned dance pieces, celebrating our African, Asian, and Caribbean communities. It’s a festival for every one of every ability who wants to come together, and joyfully dance.

5.30pm Film screening, music and more

Join us in the Beanfeast for the screening of the Connecting Communities workshops and dance development sessions. See how the new dance pieces and work has been developed to bring us to this festival finale. Plus, insights from the world of dance, music and more, inspired by the dancers and their cultures!

6pm Festival Parade

Watch or join in the festival finale carnival style procession starting from Royal Arsenal Gate, High Street, that ends at Woolwich Works

7- 9pm Festival Finale

Hosted by Adisa and Andre Bright

Immerse yourself in dance and ‘club culture’ over two floors. The finale is a culmination and celebration of all the shows over the past four days of the festival, featuring Funky Immigrants, Silyvester Bahanda of Kiduku Rhythms, Dipson Ghale, Afro Praisers Gospel Choir, Dynamix Dancerz, UK Latin Community, TARU Arts and more!
