Kidbrooke Green Park is a medium-sized grassland park ideal for informal games. It has an outdoor gym installed as part of Greenwich's Olympic legacy, hard tennis courts and a multi-use games area - both resurfaced in 2015.

The name 'Kidbrooke' is of Anglo-Saxon origin and means 'the brook where the kites were seen'.
Kidbrooke was predominantly a farming community until the 1930s. Suburban development occurred rapidly after the Shooters Hill bypass (Rochester Way) was built.
Kidbrooke Green Park and Nature Reserve are situated on damp, heavy clay soil, and are remnants of the ancient village green. - Local Nature Reserve
- The nature reserve area contains a number of small ponds which are home to a colony of newts. The Royal Borough of Greenwich has enlisted the help of amphibian charity Froglife to enhance the ponds. It is hoped that open days and environmental interpretation of the site will occur here in future.

- Because of its nature conservation importance, the nature reserve is kept locked, but access can be gained by arrangement with the Royal Borough of Greenwich's Parks and Open Spaces team. Please telephone for information.
