Introducing.... Karolina: Training, Engagement and Culture Officer

This is the first blog of our "introducing series". As our digital team grows with new roles and skills, these blogs give a short introduction to recently arrived team members.

Hi, I’m Karolina and I’ve joined the Digital and Customers Services Team as a Training, Engagement and Culture Officer.

Previously, I’ve worked as a teacher, trainer, and course designer in higher education and in retail. I’m really excited about being a part of the Royal Greenwich digital team at a time filled with so many great initiatives and changes.

Our digital strategy has a focus on giving staff the right tools and tech they need to their jobs well. I’m especially enthusiastic about this and my role is to grow people’s skills and confidence levels. This is increasingly important as hybrid working is part of the “new normal” as we emerge from the Covid pandemic. I enjoy working with people and sharing my skills and knowledge, as well as learning from others. I’m looking forward to enabling staff to acquire the skills they need to make them the successful and happy in everything they do. My dream is for everyone to be as comfortable with technology as possible and to see it as an ally.

Outside of work, I knit, and crochet and have recently taken up calligraphy (there’s something really soothing about practicing basic strokes and combing them into letters). I have two cats – Comma and Pudding (currently staying with my mum, but I hope we’ll be reunited soon).
