You can book a football pitch between the first weekend in September and the second weekend in May in Royal Greenwich at the following grounds:

  • Avery Hill
  • Charlton Park
  • Eltham Park South
  • Hornfair Park.

You can book both junior and senior pitches. Junior pitches are for players under 16 years while senior pitches are for players over 16 years.

Bookings are available for morning or afternoon sessions.

Charlton Park has floodlit training areas that are available to book all year round. They are floodlit from September to May.

Payment

You'll pay a reduced fee for a football pitch if your club is registered with the Royal Borough of Greenwich. If your club is not registered, you need to pay the full fee.

You'll need to pay an extra fee if you make a late booking for a football game.

The late fee is £17 for bookings made after midnight on the Wednesday before the weekend of play, and £42 for bookings made after midnight on the Thursday before the weekend of play.

Cancellation

If you cancel the booking before midnight on the Wednesday before the weekend of play, you can change the booking to another date.

If you cancel after midnight on the Wednesday before the weekend of play, you'll lose the booking and the booking fee.

To change the booking to another date, contact Parks and Open Spaces.

If it's not possible to use the pitch due to adverse weather conditions, the park ranger or referee will let you know and you'll be offered an alternative date.

What happens next

Once your payment has been made and your pitch is confirmed, you'll be sent a permit by email.

You must show your permit to the park ranger on the day - you can do this by showing the permit on your mobile or by showing a print-out of the permit.
