Open days offer chance to find out more about adoption

Published Monday, 21 May 2012

Prospective adopters have a chance to find out about the support available from the Royal Borough of Greenwich at an information session later this month

The free session takes place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 30 May in the Gallery of the Woolwich Centre, Wellington Street, SE18 6HQ.

Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to register in advance at or to by calling 020 8921 2752.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is always looking for new adopters, and encourages prospective adopters from all walks of life; the Borough has therefore arranged the information session to enable anyone interested to have their questions answered in an informal setting.

Cllr Jackie Smith, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, says, "We are working hard to increase the number of adoptive families on our books. Families who adopt with Royal Greenwich receive plenty of support throughout the process and I would encourage any families who are interested in adopting in Greenwich to come along to the information session – or to contact the Royal Borough’s adoption team – in order to find out about the process and the support available."

Further sessions will take place later in the year on the following dates:

Saturday 14 July 2012 11am
Thursday 13 September 2012 7.30pm
Saturday 24 November 2012 11am

Tea and coffee will be available at all sessions.

Families who want to find out more about adopting can also contact the Royal Borough’s adoption service on 020 8921 2752
