The Royal Borough is looking for artists to design a mural for a Plumstead underpass.

The design is to cover the spiral wall of Pettman Underpass in Plumstead and should represent the spirit of Plumstead - the community, its diversity and landmarks. It should also include the hashtag #PositivePlumstead.

The winning artist will work with local residents to transfer the design. The total fee offered is £2,800, which includes the artist's fee, design, materials and installation.

Make a positive contribution to Plumstead

Councillor Denise Scott-McDonald, Cabinet Member for Culture, Creative Industries and Community Wellbeing said: "We want everyone to feel proud of where they live. Plumstead is going through a major transformation. A new £11.2 million library and leisure centre is coming along for the local community with improvements to the wider area around Plumstead Station.

"The Council is also working hard to improve the high street environment. This is a chance for residents to make a major contribution to the #PositivePlumstead campaign."

The artwork must be transferred on to the Pettman Underpass in late August to early September 2017. You must be available to supervise and install the design and attend the launch.

The official launch will take place in September, the artist will attend with the local community and local press.
