The new designs will be available to view on Thursday 29 June at Plumstead Library.

The Plumstead Urban Framework, completed in January 2016, details the Council's ambitious actions to deliver renewal and regeneration in the Plumstead area. The centrepiece to the Framework is the redevelopment of the Grade II Listed Plumstead library building to create a new combined library, leisure, cultural and sports centre - significantly upgrading leisure facilities and services for the local community.

'A clear commitment to invest in Plumstead'

Councillor Danny Thorpe, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Sustainability, said: "The Council has made a clear commitment to invest in Plumstead and we have plans to transform and reconnect this important town centre, with a series of integrated projects for the area. We are investing money and working with other agencies and partners to ensure that we deliver a revitalised Plumstead, with this new library and leisure centre at its heart.

"We have consulted with residents on the designs and I am confident that these proposals will make use of the high street's full potential and create a wonderful new civic attraction."

Opportunity to comment on final proposals

There will be a final opportunity for people to comment on the final designs when they are submitted for the formal planning application later in July.
