Sign a Book of Condolence at Woolwich Town Hall for those affected by Manchester attack.

Cllr Denise Hyland, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich

"We, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, stand in solidarity with the families and friends of those killed - and with those injured - in this terrible act of violence. The innocent, young people targeted in this attack had a right to attend a concert and be safe with their loved ones around them.

"We cannot allow such cowardly acts to divide us and now is the time for us to stand together as one community united against terror and the forces that would seek to destroy our tolerant, diverse and open society.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the good people of Manchester who have come together and worked tirelessly together to provide assistance and accommodation to the victims and their families. We should also thank the brave men and women in the Emergency Services who responded and worked throughout the night to provide relief and support.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone grieving as a result of this despicable attack; a Book of Condolence will be opened in the Town Hall today and the Union flag will fly at half-mast".

Tariq Abbasi, Chair of Greenwich Faith Community Leaders

"Once again we have witnessed a cowardly terrorist attack against a vulnerable target: teenagers, children and innocent families, enjoying themselves in a lovely warm evening. We are sick and disgusted by this deplorably savage and barbaric terrorist attack.

"Our hearts, prayers and warmest feelings are with those who have been injured, and we offer our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.

"We continue to condemn, deplore, and oppose all forms of terrorism, extremism and radicalisation and their perpetrators, supporters and sympathisers. No words can truly express the extent of sadness we feel at the present time".
