The al fresco market has spent three days on Powis Street and may return monthly.

A rich and diverse, al fresco market has spent three days on Powis Street in the heart of Woolwich with the possibility of it becoming a more regular monthly fixture.

Foods and goods from across the world

A small slice of a Moroccan souk, a little piece of a Continental Farmers' Market and a wide assortment of foods and wares from across the globe were on offer from 18 to 20 May as part of a pilot visit by Amber Markets.

Traders lined Powis Street selling everything from food, clothes, jewellery, cosmetics, ice cream, incense and much more.

Increasing footfall on our local high streets

Councillor Sizwe James, Cabinet Member for Transport, Economy & Smart Cities said:  "What a treat to have a nationally well-known travel market come to Woolwich. As part of our drive to increase footfall to the local high street and back local businesses, we were delighted to welcome this al fresco market to Powis Street."
