Providing another opportunity for residents to share their views.

Better Together - a series of local meetings regularly held throughout the Royal Borough of Greenwich with residents, Council officers and local councillors - is set to return from January 2017.

The Better Together meetings are part of a borough-wide listening and engagement effort in which the Royal Borough's officers and elected Members listen and respond to concerns and comments raised by the local community.

What progress we have made

The next series of meetings will also give the Council an opportunity to report back on the progress made since the previous meetings held in September 2016.

During September, 572 suggestions were submitted at drop-in sessions, evening meetings and online. The meetings in January and February will provide a short summary of some of the top priorities raised and feature discussions on how we can continue to work together on addressing them.

'Speaks volumes about what we can achieve together'

Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich Councillor Denise Hyland said: "I was delighted to see so many residents come along to our last Better Together meetings, and the enthusiasm and passion for the community strongly resonated in every session we held. That speaks volumes about what we can achieve together.

"The upcoming meetings in January and February will be a real opportunity for us to report back on what we have accomplished since we last met and where further action is needed.

"At a time of austerity, when local authority resources and budgets are continually being squeezed, it's crucial that we hold this consultation and dialogue with everyone who lives in the borough. I strongly encourage residents to take some time to come along to the Better Together meetings and help us to focus priorities and allocate resources to the issues that matter most."
