Free advice to quit smoking at NHS roadshow

Published Thursday, 05 January 2012

Quit smoking for good with free support this January to March at the stop smoking roadshow.

The roadshow is organised by NHS Greenwich Healthy Living Service and Charlton Athletic Community Trust.

There are lots of different things that you can do to make it easier to quit. Regardless of how many times you've tried to quit in the past, it's this time that matters. With free help at the stop smoking roadshow this winter you are four times more likely to quit smoking for good. You can get help with:

  • setting your quit date
  • working out the best way to quit for you
  • getting support that suits your needs
  • resisting cravings and quitting for good.

Stop smoking advisers will be on hand to offer free support and lung age tests to smokers during a tour of Greenwich borough’s main supermarkets and high streets over nine weeks.

From Tuesday, 10 January until Saturday, 10 March 2012, the advisers will be at the following venues:

  • Tuesdays - 10am to 7pm Sainsbury's, Bugsby's Way
  • Wednesdays - 9.30am to 5pm Orangery Lane Car Park, off Eltham High Street (behind LIDL)
  • Thursdays - 12pm to 8pm Twin Tumps Way, Thamesmead shops
  • Fridays - 10am to 7pm Asda, Charlton
  • Saturdays - 11am to 5.30pm General Gordon Square, Woolwich (except for Saturday, 10 March)
  • Saturday, 10 March 2012 - the Roadshow will move to Charlton Athletic FC.
