Councillor Danny Thorpe, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, has issued a statement on the one-year anniversary of the Finsbury Park mosque attack.

Councillor Thorpe said: "It is with deep sadness that we reflect upon the first anniversary of the atrocious attack on worshippers of the Finsbury Park mosque one year ago today.

"Any act of violence against members of London's diverse community is an attack on all of us. This was another act of terrorism in a series of attempts to divide London and its values of tolerance, freedom and solidarity.

'The Council stands steadfast together with our Muslim friends'

"The Royal Borough of Greenwich is a borough rich in cultural diversity and this attack came as a great shock to many, of many different religious beliefs. The Council stands steadfast together with our Muslim friends on this very sad day."
