More than 500 Royal Greenwich residents, young and old, made a healthy start to the New Year at the newly opened Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre.
Enthusiastic crowds enjoyed free tasters of the exciting, state of the art facilities on Tuesday 2 January. The indoor and outdoor centre includes an indoor BMX/Skatepark, 'clip and climb' climbing hall and all year round indoor sprint track.
The official opening of the Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre will take place in February.
Councillor Denise Scott-McDonald, Cabinet Member for Culture, Creative Industries and Community Well-Being, was there to enjoy the fun of the day, alongside members of the Friends of Sutcliffe Park.
'A major investment in sports provision'
Cllr Scott-McDonald said: "This centre represents a major investment in sports provision in the Royal Borough, especially for the south of the borough. I am delighted that so many residents turned out to enjoy the facilities at the very start of 2018."
