Eltham Lights Up saw a huge turnout as thousands of people flocked to the high street to enjoy the annual winter event on 16 November.
There were strolling entertainers including Superman, robots and aliens to keep families entertained - and provide some great opportunities for a selfie.
Local schoolchildren from primary schools spent hours crafting lanterns in the form of planets and the Milky Way for the residents to admire during the annual Eltham Lights Up lantern parade.
Eltham Police Station and Fire Station welcomed hundreds of residents who met the police dogs and horses.
Residents were entertained with music and activities throughout the three-hour event as local schools and community groups took to the streets to showcase their dancing and singing skills.
Star Wars songs were played as the spectacular display of fireworks capped off the evening's event by lighting up the Eltham night sky.
'A great evening'
Cabinet Member for Culture, Creative Industries and Community Well-Being, Councillor Denise Scott-McDonald said: "Eltham Lights Up was a great evening and showed off the newly developed high street, which was packed from top to bottom! For the first time in years, the fireworks display made a return and wowed the thousands of people watching.
"Once again, our fabulous police and fire crews provided great company for the young people who were lucky enough to get a chance to sit behind the wheel of a fire engine and police car."
