Help and advice finding a job is available on board a bus which will be popping up around the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB) community outreach bus is one of the Council's innovative approaches to supporting local residents improve their skills to gain permanent employment.

About the bus

The service, which was launched in General Gordon Square on Tuesday (15 August), will help GLLaB services get out into the community, making it easier and more convenient for people to get the help and advice they need.

Residents who are looking for work, training or apprenticeship opportunities will be able to get on board for help with their job search, preparing CVs and interview techniques. They'll also be able to find out about job opportunities with local employers from GLLaB staff.

Where to find the bus

People looking for work can get on board at:

  • Greenwich Islamic Centre, 131 Plumstead Road, SE18 7DW - 10.15am to 2pm from Friday 18 August (then fortnightly)
  • Middle Park Community Centre, Middle Park Avenue, SE9 5SD - 10.15am to 2pm from Tuesday 22 August (then fortnightly)
  • Armada Community Hall, 21 McMillan Street, SE8 3EZ - 10.15am to 2pm from Friday 25 August (then fortnightly).
  • General Gordon Square, Woolwich, SE18 6HD - 10.15am to 2pm from 29 August (then fortnightly).

More venues will be added and the GLLaB Bus will also feature at major weekend events around the Borough.

A drop-in service is also available weekdays, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, at:
