Report bin or collection problems

Report missed collections or lost bins

Is there a problem with your rubbish and recycling collections? Please report it to us.

Missed collections

If we have missed all the bins in your street, you need do nothing. We would already be aware of this and will collect your recycling later the same day.

If it is just your bin that we have missed, report it to us. We will come back to collect within one working day.

Replacement bins

To report a wheelie bin or communal bin that is damaged or stolen, contact us.

We will replace the following bins within seven working days of your call:

  • green-top bin (for food and garden waste)
  • blue-top bin (for mixed dry recycling)
  • communal bin.

If your wheelie bin is lost in the back of a collection vehicle, our crew will drop a card through your door to inform you that a new one has been ordered.

Recycling sacks

Contact us to request replacement recycling sacks. We will deliver them within ten working days.

Who can receive wheelie bins?

All households are eligible to receive a container. In general, wheeled containers will be provided except in cases where:

  • the property is on a flatted estate (communal facilities will be provided instead)
  • where the property has insufficient space for storing the container off the public highway
  • where it is impractical or unsafe to use a wheeled container

An example of the last case is where the container has to be moved up and down a number of steps. In this situation, the Council will provide a wheeled bin for the temporary storage of waste in sacks. The householder will be responsible for moving only the sacks to the collection point on the required collection day.

Where a resident is not eligible for bins, the resident will need to store their waste in sacks on their property until collection day.
